Game testing experience: In early October, Fremde werden Freunde welcomed us to their Freunde Salon, right in the heart of Vienna, for the second LTTA event as part of the „Inclusive Minds“ Erasmus+ project. This inspiring venue set the stage for a few transformative days dedicated to advancing mental well-being among migrant women in Europe. Our gathering was a vital milestone in our journey to build a more inclusive and supportive Europe, reflecting the strength of our partnerships and shared commitment to this mission. The thoughtfully designed agenda brought us a mix of interactive sessions, workshops, and group discussions that enriched participants’ understanding of mental health and social inclusion.
Game testing experience
The highlight was a hands-on session where we tested a newly developed board game focused on mental health awareness for migrant women. Led by facilitators Rahaf Habal from Austria and Zainab Alsaadi from Sweden, two groups with 15 women each explored the game’s mechanics, encouraging everyone to dive into the topic. As the game unfolded, women shared personal stories, challenges, and resilience strategies, transforming the experience into a space of open dialogue about mental health.
Following this, our discussions turned to crafting communication strategies suited to our target groups. We brainstormed local and cross-border activities to make our initiatives as inclusive and accessible as possible. A key outcome was the launch of our awareness campaign, which will provide migrant women with knowledge on mental health, coping strategies, and the power of social inclusion.
To round off the event, we visited Nachbarinnen, a Vienna-based organization dedicated to empowering women and promoting diversity. This experience left us with invaluable insights into community-based initiatives and strengthened our commitment to fostering social support for migrant women.
As we look ahead, we’re excited for the impact of the „Inclusive Minds“ project. Through social interaction, accessible information, and a welcoming environment, we’re helping migrant women overcome integration challenges and find a sense of belonging in their new communities.
The project is implemented by Fremde werden Freunde (Austria), Internationella Kvinnoföreningen (Sweden), and Dracon Rules Design Studio (Greece).
